Block Grafting procedures involve the rebuilding an area of deficient bone by transplanting bone from another area of the patients own skeleton.

This is usually from the lower jaw. commonly from below the lower front teeth via a cut inside the mouth or from the back of the mouth where wisdom teeth usually live.

The bone is secured in the area of reduced bone with screws and then allowed to heal for 4 months before implants can be placed.

The bone graft usually increases width in areas of reduced volume though can increase height by small amounts in certain situations.
